American Roadside Burgers is no more in Smithtown.
According to the restaurant’s Facebook page and Google Business profile, the popular burger joint has closed down permanently. The iconic storefront that overlooked East Main Street for years had its sign taken down earlier this month.
A Reddit user said the restaurant had a sign posted on the door saying it had closed due to the rising costs of goods.
American Roadside offered a build-your-own burger concept, allowing hungry customers to stack unlimited toppings for no additional cost. Its claim to fame was its Roadstar burger, which was four patties piled high in one bun.
The restaurant has sister location that remains open in Charlotte, N.C.
