Babylon Carriage House closes; something new is in the works

|

The Babylon Carriage House, a widely-popular eatery and bar in downtown Babylon, announced it has closed.

A spokesperson from the Standard Hospitality Group, which now operates the restaurant, released the following statement on Facebook:

“After nearly 20 years since its opening, Babylon Carriage House has closed it doors. We thank our staff and our community for your continued support and can’t wait to share what’s to come.”

The Babylon Carriage House, located at 21 Fire Island Ave., opened in 2003 in an actual carriage house that was built in the post Civil War era.

It is unclear if the restaurant has been sold or if it will be going through a rebranding. Check back with greaterbabylon.com for updates on this story.

The Standard Hospitality Group recently took over the Babylon Carriage House. The group also operates The Piermont in Babylon, as well as Mission Taco, Arlo Kitchen & Bar, The James and The Standard at North Shore Synagogue.
