The spas and salons in downtown Babylon are teaming up to create a buzz in the village.
The group, known as the Beauty Committee– which is a part of the Babylon Village Chamber of Commerce— is launching a “Beauty Week” from Jan. 21 to Jan. 28.
Like a restaurant week, the week-long promotion will include beauty businesses (listed below) offering discounts on their services and products.
The idea for Beauty Week was created by the owner of Girasolé Salon, Sara Letosky, and her manager Dawn Punto.
“It is a week-long event where participating salons and spas in the village are offering their own tailored deals based on their business,” said Punto.
Since forming the committee, Girasolé’s owner says working with her neighboring businesses has been enlightening.
“We have the same goals and vision,” said Letosky, who opened her salon in Babylon Village 16 years ago. “And now it is nice to build a better rapport with them to come together and create unity.”
According to the Beauty Committee, the group is considering running this offer twice a year, once in January, as well as in July.
Babylon Village Chamber of Commerce incoming president Kelly Peckholdt is excited to see the growth of the organization.
“One of the main goals and functions of the Chamber of Commerce is to create economic opportunities that benefit our member businesses and our great village,” she said. “We are excited to partner with the Beauty Committee on the first-ever Beauty Week in hopes of driving more traffic to the salons and spas after the holidays.”
