Babylon’s Easter Egg Hunt Saturday is an adventure through the village

|

Grab your baskets because the Babylon Village Chamber of Commerce’s annual Easter Egg Hunt is this Saturday.

Kids should be prepared for a day filled with fun and exploration, because Babylon’s hunt isn’t like most.

Instead of gathering groups of eggs in an open field, this hunt is much more of an adventure.

Children can meet anytime in the morning at the American Legion at 22 Grove Place, where they are given clues about a business that has their Easter eggs.

(If the tips are too hard, the answers are on the back.)

Each business — at their own cost – gives out individual prizes to the children. And some even offer a gift for the parents, too.

After collecting the eggs from the clue sheets, the children bring them back to the American Legion where they are counted. After that, raffle prizes will go to those who collected the most.

“Businesses are asked to be ready with 500 candy-filled eggs, where some go through at least 1000,” said the chamber’s vice president of events, Dani Vergano.

With the large participation numbers, the event has become helpful in getting people on the streets and into local businesses during March.

“The kids have so much fun at this, and its like a segue into spring,” said the chamber’s president, Jacqueline DiDonato. “It also really important to see parents visit the business they haven’t been in.”
