Babylon’s Jake Carlock signs with Miami Dolphins practice squad

|

It didn’t take long for Babylon’s Jake Carlock to find a new home in the NFL.

The LIU Post product signed with the Miami Dolphin’s practice squad on Tuesday just two weeks after being cut by the New York Giants.

“I am pumped [for the new opporunity],” Carlock told GreaterBabylon following the signing.

The 6-foot-3, 225-pounder now joins a rebuilding team in the Dolphins, which are 2-7 this season.

As a practice squad member, Carlock will train with the team but he will be unable to play in games until activated to the active roster. Being activated to a game-day roster is common practice in the NFL with the league’s high tendency for personnel changes due to injuries and gameplans.

Carlock, who plays linebacker and long snapper, originally signed with Big Blue as an undrafted free agent this year.

His biggest moment with the team came when he returned a 59-yard interception for a touchdown against the New York Jets on Aug. 8.
