Bay Shore High School has come in as No. 6 in all of New York State in a new list of the 100 public high school’s for athletics from Syracuse.com.
The news organization used a “number cruncher” website called Niche.com to evaluate criteria in creating the rankings on both a regional and national scale.
The data evaluated includes:
- Surveys and reviews
- Participation numbers
- Amount of teams per school
- Expenses divided to each sports
According to Niche.com, one Bay Shore senior said, “This school offers many great educational and recreational opportunities for students to emerge in.”
“I love being part of my clubs and love the classes I’ve taken.”
Bay Shore High School received an overall grade of “A+” and ranked 30th on the national list. Other Long Island sports programs made the list as well, including Garden City, which came in first place.
