Bay Shore sets date for Halloween Festival and Trunk or Treat

|

Fall is right around the corner, meaning so is Bay Shore’s annual Haunted Halloween Festival and Trunk or Treat.

The Bay Shore Chamber of Commerce announced the family-fun day is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 19. There’s a rain date on standby for Oct. 26.

The day is run by the Bay Shore Beautification Society, the Great South Bay YMCA, the Bay Shore Chamber of Commerce/BID, and Northwell Health.

From 4 p.m. to 9 p.m., Main Street will be closed from Shore Lane to Smith Avenue for the festivities.

Some of the fest’s fun will include a costume parade, a pumpkin carving contest, arts and crafts, vendors and the annual and spooky walk through the Haunted Gaden at the Community Garden. Restaurants will also be serving patrons in penned off areas on Main Street.

This will be the third annual year for the Trunk or Treat, an event organized by the Bay Shore Moms and Dads, where people from the community decorated their cars and gave away candy on Main Street.
