Bay Shore sex trafficker gets 18-36 years for preying on vulnerable women

Sex trafficker from Bay Shore sentenced to decades in prison.

A Bay Shore man with a lengthy criminal history has received a prison sentence of 18 to 36 years in prison for sex trafficking numerous victims, Suffolk’s district attorney announced on Monday.

Freddie Rice, 35, used drugs and financial coercion to force multiple women battling addictions into performing sex acts for money between 2019 and 2023, prosecutors said. At his sentencing in court on Thursday, he received an additional six-year sentence for an unrelated drug conviction.

Suffolk District Attorney Raymond Tierney called Rice’s actions “despicable,” noting that he preyed on vulnerable people struggling with addiction.

“With this substantial sentence, he will no longer have the opportunity to victimize others,” he said.

Evidence presented at trial showed Rice controlled multiple women addicted to heroin and crack cocaine, withholding drugs to ensure compliance, dictating sexual acts and fees, and forcing victims to turn over every cent they earned.

Victims were also told they had to perform these acts to pay off debts that Rice knew could never be cleared, Tierney said.

Rice was convicted in October 2025 of two counts of sex trafficking and one count of third-degree promoting prostitution. He has four prior felony convictions, including burglary, attempted assault and drug offenses.

Tierney urged anyone who may be a victim of sex trafficking to contact 911 or the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office Human Trafficking Tipline at 631.852.2950.
