Bay Shore’s big Arts Festival by the Bay happens June 9 in the downtown

|

It’s the biggest Sunday in Bay Shore, and many say the official start of summer for residents of the South Shore hamlet: Arts Festival by the Bay.

And this huge street fair, organized by the Bay Shore Chamber of Commerce, is set for its return to the downtown on Sunday, June 9.

For the uninitiated, this is an all-day affair. Main Street will closed to cars but open to families and art lovers perusing the street for artisan crafts, paintings and enjoying live art performances.

A host of musical groups is also slated to perform at the Community Band Shell. Not to mention all the food from which has emerged over the last decade as one of the best foodie downtowns on Long Island.

The festival, which started over two decades ago, took a couple years off due to state COVID-19 restrictions before making its return to Main Street in 2022. This year will mark the 22nd annual event.
