Bayport-Blue Point high schooler publishes in prestigious science journal

|

An Advanced Placement research paper written by this year’s valedictorian at Bayport-Blue Point High School will be published in the Journal of Student Research, the school district announced.

Annelise Schreiber wrote the paper, “Fibonacci Sequence and Art: The Measure of Utilization during the Renaissance, Baroque and Romantic Art Movements in European History,” which focuses on the mathematical aspect of painting.

Annelise examined whether the spiral in the Fibonacci Sequence fit within paintings from these periods of art.

An Advanced Placement Scholar with Distinction, Annelise is set to attend Boston University this fall. She will pursue a degree in math and computer science.

Earlier this school year, she was named a Commended Student by the 2022 National Merit Scholarship Program.
