Serves up, Bellport.
A new indoor pickleball facility called Paddles Up Pickleball launched this past September at the Bellport Outlets.
The 26,000-square-foot space features eight pickleball courts, a dink wall, and two ping-pong tables. For those unfamiliar, a dink wall is a rebounding concept for warming up and practicing pickleball.
Paddles Up offers pickleheads the opportunity to rent courts, take private lessons, participate in open play, and join tournaments. There are also four different membership tiers. Tap here to learn about them.
In addition to the courts, Paddles Up also sells merchandise and refreshments. According to its website, an acai bar called Bowls-N-Blendz is also in the works for the venue.
Not familiar with the sport with the funny name? It’s one of the fastest-growing sports in the states.
Pickleball — which is a blend of tennis, badminton, and ping-pong — saw 8.9 million avid players in 2023, a rise of 85.7% year-over-year, with the numbers expected to rise in 2024, according to the Sports & Fitness Industry Association. Watch the video below to learn more about the sport:
