Vespa Italian Kitchen is expanding again on Long Island — this time to downtown Patchogue.
The Italian restaurant has signed a long-term lease at New Village in Patchogue, according to an announcement from TRITEC Real Estate Company.
Vespa will take over the 5,042-square-foot space formerly occupied by The Cuban.
The plan is to open right after the Fourth of July.
Vespa Italian Kitchen & Bar was founded by Benedetto LoManto, who opened the original location in downtown Farmingdale in 2016. Vespa’s second outpost opened at TRITEC’s Station Yards development in Ronkonkoma in June 2025, and Patchogue makes three.
“This is going to be a relatively quick buildout because, obviously, it was already a restaurant,” LoManto said. “About 80 percent of we have to do involves aesthetics and the plan is to copy and paste the Ronkonkoma design, from the furniture to the bar.”
The team also expects to add more glass to the facade to better open up the space and its soaring ceilings to Main Street, “especially at night, where you’ll be able to see the chandeliers,” LoManto said.
“We’re excited that Vespa chose to continue their growth with TRITEC,” said Chris Kelly, senior vice president of marketing at TRITEC, the New Village developers. “They’ve been a strong partner at Station Yards, and their decision to expand to New Village speaks to the strength of Patchogue, the vitality of Main Street, and the long-term demand for high-quality dining in thoughtfully designed mixed-use environments.”
Vespa draws on authentic Sicilian recipes from LoManto’s hometown of Castellammare del Golfo.
The menu will mirror Ronkonkoma’s as well, but no pizza or pizzettes, which LoManto said isn’t possible due to the configuration of the pre-existing kitchen.
Maria Valanzano and Steven D’Orazio of Colliers represented the lease on behalf of TRITEC, an announcement reads.
