Biker injured in crash with mini school bus on Sunrise Hwy in Sayville

A motorcyclist suffered serious injuries Tuesday afternoon in a crash with a mini school bus on eastbound Sunrise Highway near Locust Avenue in Sayville, Suffolk County police said.

Portions of eastbound Sunrise Highway were closed for more than three hours following the incident. Police said the road was reopened at 4:21 p.m.

The motorcyclist was taken to a local hospital after 1:07 p.m. collision, police said.

Detectives from Suffolk Police’s Fifth Squad in Patchogue are investigating the crash.
