Bistro 25 in Sayville is closing for the summer, plans to reopen this fall

|

An owner of bistro 25 in Sayville announced Thursday that the restaurant will close temporarily for the rest of the summer, before reopening this fall with a new approach.

“We are looking forward to reopening in September with some new and fresh concepts,” Michael Turner posted on bistro 25’s Facebook account. “Thank you to all of our loyal customers and friends. We look forward to seeing you all in September.”

Turner noted further that the restaurant will remain available for private parties of 30 or more. The restaurant’s last day with regular dining hours is Saturday, July 3.

Bistro 25 opened in January 2011 at 45 Foster Ave. and its casual yet elegant approach was an immediate hit. The eatery was featured favorably later that year in The New York Times. Its diverse selection of small plates, sandwiches, and delicious and hearty entrees, along with a raw bar, made it a hotspot for lunch and dinner.

Bistro 25 was recently memorialized in the independent film “One Moment,” with a prominent scene shot inside the restaurant. Directed and produced by Blue Point’s Deirdre O’Connor, the movie stars the late Danny Aiello and has been raking in top awards on the film festival circuit.

Customers reacting to the news of the temporary closure were upbeat and optimistic about the restaurant’s return in the fall.

“Rest, Refresh and Return better than ever!!!!!” Kathy Schierhorst commented on Facebook.
