Breakers Burrito Bar is officially open in downtown Lindenhurst.
The surf-inspired concept debuted Wednesday, April 1, taking over the former restaurant space at 147 S. Wellwood Ave. inside the century-old bank building operated by the team behind Great South Bay Brewery.
Rather than leaving the space behind, the Davis family opted for a full reimagining — closing for about a week to transform the restaurant into a fast-casual, Southern California–inspired burrito spot.
The new concept is led in part by partner Chris Palmer, who has introduced a menu centered on burritos, tacos and SoCal-style street food.
“Breakers’ menu is a mash up of burritos and popular SoCal street foods, using ingredients not typically found in that space offering a truly refreshing dining experience,” Palmer said in an announcement.
The redesign leans into that theme, with a beachy, laid-back vibe meant to feel like a quick escape from the everyday.
In addition to the food, Breakers offers 12 draft beers and a lineup of handcrafted cocktails, giving customers the option to grab a quick bite or settle in.
“Breakers Burrito Bar is the surf & swim haven for anyone looking to break away from the grind,” the announcement reads. “Whether it’s grabbing lunch to-go or dining in, you will feel like you just walked into a cozy beach spot that never disappoints.”
The brewery’s Bay Shore and Ronkonkoma locations remain unchanged.
