Breeze Airways expands Long Island service with new flights to Maine and North Carolina

|

Breeze Airways, the young but rapidly expanding airline, is now adding new destinations to its list.

On Tuesday, Breeze Airways and Islip Town officials announced that the airline would offer service from MacArthur Airport in Long Island to Portland, Maine, and Raleigh-Durham, N.C., starting this summer.

The new service will begin on June 28 for Portland, and June 29 for Raleigh, with service running through the summer.

The airline has been gaining popularity for its affordable fares and nonstop routes. The new flights will be available at a starting price of $49 to Portland and $59 to Raliegh-Durham, depending on the date of travel and the amount of luggage.

Breeze Airways President Tom Doxey stated that the airline always looks for routes that people are traveling today but can’t get there nonstop.

Breeze Airways has been expanding its service rapidly since its launch in May 2021, adding several new destinations to its list. The airline’s strategy of focusing on underserved and overlooked routes has proven successful, with many travelers opting for its affordable and direct flights.

Breeze previously began providing service out of Islip to Charleston, South Carolina; Norfolk, Virginia; Tampa; Jacksonville; and New Orleans. The airline most recently added flights to Richmond, Virginia and Pittsburgh.
