Brentwood nanny, 21, hit and killed by Volkswagen on Washington Avenue

Brentwood nanny Melody Quinones, 21, was hit and killed by a car.

A 21-year-old nanny died Wednesday after she was struck by a car on Washington Avenue in Brentwood.

Melody Quinones of Brentwood was in the southbound side of the roadway when she was hit by a 2010 Volkswagen driven about 5:10 a.m., Suffolk Police said.

Quinones was taken to South Shore University Hospital in Bay Shore, where she was pronounced dead.

The driver of the car, Brandon Nunez Cumi, 20, of Brentwood, was not injured in the crash.

The Volkswagen was impounded for a safety check.

Suffolk Police’s Third Squad detectives are investigating the crash and are asking anyone with information to call 631.854.8352.
