Maxwell’s in Islip will be going to the dogs.
On Saturday, Sept. 7, from noon to 4 p.m., the Main Street bar and restaurant is hosting a special event called “Canines and Cocktails” to benefit the Suffolk County SPCA.
So diners are being invited to bring their dogs to the restaurant’s back patio for play and live music by Joe Soul O and TJ.
Ten percent of the day’s sales will go to support Suffolk County SPCA.
“Although our name implies that we are a county agency, it just means that we have county- wide jurisdiction and we are actually a unique not-for-profit enforcing the New York State and Suffolk County animal cruelty laws,” said Suffolk SPCA Chief Roy Gross.
“Events like these are the lifeblood of the Suffolk County SPCA.”
