A Medford woman was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated with her two young children in the car after a late-night crash into the woods in Brookhaven, police said.

Jesher Rivera-Barreto, 31, was driving a 2006 Toyota 4Runner south on Horseblock Road at the intersection of Montauk Highway when she lost control of the vehicle, left the roadway, and crashed into the woods about 11:25 p.m. Saturday, Suffolk Police said.

The woman’s 1-year-old and 4-year-old sons were in the SUV at the time of the crash, authorities said.

Rivera-Barreto and both boys were taken to NYU Langone Hospital – Suffolk in Patchogue for evaluation. Rivera-Barreto and the 1-year-old were treated for minor injuries, while the 4-year-old was not hurt, police said.

Both boys were later released to their father at the hospital, police said.
