Bubble owner opening new craft & sip studio and boutique in Babylon

|

The owner of the popular children’s boutique and birthday spot Bubble is expanding.

But Jennifer Dellafranca’s second location will be for the grownups.

“We’ve been doing adult craft nights upstairs, where we’re making signs, ceramics — cool things you’d want to have in your house. But we wanted to be on the ground level,” Dellafranca told GreaterBabylon.

So, she’s transforming the former Shade Shop at 22 East Main Street in Babylon into a new studio for craft & sip nights (think of paint & sip, but with crafts). The boutique side of the businesses will also cater to adults, and offer apparel, gifts, jewelry and more.

The new venture comes about 10 years after Bubble opened in the village at the prominent northeast corner of Main Street and Deer Park Avenue. Bubble is a children’s boutique that offers creative learning classes and birthday parties.

Like at Bubble, the new shop will also play host to special events and workshops, as well as mindfullness workshops. “A feel good kind of place,” she said. “A place for tons of creativity and fun.”

There’s no name yet, but Dellafranca is open to suggestions.

“Something that incorporates the name Bubble somehow,” she laughed.

The hope is to open next month.

As for the crafts, Dellafranca’s said she’s always trying to stay with the trends — and be versatile to appeal to a wide range of interests.

The crafts being made might range from holiday wreaths, to wooden flower planters, to canvas pillow cases. Basically, whatever’s in.

“All the cool stuff you see trending on Pinterest,” she said.
