Looney Tunes Record Store just booked itself a mega-star that will turn Up the crowd, 100%.
Grammy-winning Cardi B, known for hits like “Bodak Yellow,” “I Like It” and “WAP,” will make a rare in-person appearance at the West Babylon record shop on Friday, Sept. 19, to promote her new album, “Am I The Drama?,” Looney Tunes announced Tuesday night.
Set to kick off at 1 p.m., the “Up” performer’s appearance is a photo-only opportunity for fans who purchase a copy of the album. There will be no autograph signing, the store said. Looney Tunes will distribute wristbands to those who buy the CD, and only wristband holders will be allowed to meet Cardi B and pose with her for a photo.
Each wristband allows one photo per person, and all sales are final. Outside cameras are not permitted; store staff will handle photography. Doors open at 11 a.m. for wristband holders.
Gigantic fan base
Cardi B’s visit is expected to draw a heavy crowd. She has a developed a huge fan base and carries a massive social media following.
The sass-filled rapper burst onto the mainstream music scene in 2017 with her smash-hit single “Bodak Yellow.” While she had built a significant internet and reality TV presence before this, the song’s massive success marked her official breakthrough as a musical artist and quickly expanded her influence beyond music.
Looney Tunes draws the stars
Over the years, Looney Tunes, an independent record store located at 31 Brookvale Ave. in West Babylon, has welcomed a number of high-profile guests, including recording stars Selena Gomez, LL Cool J, Busta Rhymes and Offset, as well as big-time producer Benny Blanco.
The rules
Looney Tunes put out an extensive list of rules for the Card B event:Buy the CD from us to get a wristband for the event
• Everyone that wants their photo taken with Cardi B needs a wristband, and to get a wristband you must buy her new CD.
• You can pre-order the CD online or at the store.
• Customers buying the CD online will be required to an additional $6 paypal /credit card fee. There is no fee if you order at the store. If you purchase a CD online, choose in-store pick up as your shipping option.
• All online orders must be picked up the day of the event at the store. Purchasers must bring their identification and order number.
• Fans can start to line up at outside the store at 11 a.m.; the event will begin at 1 p.m.
• CD buyers will need to go inside the store first to pick up their online order and wristband, before lining up outside.
• All photos of fans with Cardi B will be taken by Looney Tunes’ photographer. There will not be any cameras allowed at the table with Cardi B.
• Each payiong customer with a wristband gets only one picture. Fans have the option to pose for a group shot or a solo shot.
• All sales are final. There will be no refunds.
