Rain earlier in the day gave way for holiday revelers to line Main Street for the annual Center Moriches Fire Department Holiday Parade of Lights on Saturday.
Bill Renzetti, ex-chief of the department and chair of the parade, said the event has been going on for at least 40 years.
The parade included performances by local dance studios, school bands, as well as classic cars, floats and, of course, a visit from Santa.
This year’s special judge was Sandra Dennis, the daughter of Patricia Townsend, a 50-year member of the Ladies Auxiliary who passed away last month and had judged the parade for years.
“It was beautiful, especially in honor of my mom,” Dennis said of the parade immediately after it ended.
