Center Moriches firefighters rescued a 5-year-old boy Tuesday afternoon who climbed 40 feet up a tree.
The Center Moriches Fire Department said on its Facebook page that it was called at 4:37 p.m. to a house on Ocean Avenue, where a child was reported to be stuck in a tree.
Firefighters found that a 5-year-old boy had climbed about 40 feet up a pine tree before getting stuck.
The boy was rescued using a tower ladder bucket.
A message to the fire department’s chief, Ian Foley, for information, was not immediately returned.
