The sign out front reads “Puff and Pass.” But inside, it was more about hanky-panky and hubba hubba than it was about hookah and haze.
Police said a Centereach massage parlor still operating under the signage of a former smoke shop has been shut down following a human trafficking investigation, Suffolk police said.
During a raid this week, human trafficking investigators found evidence of a commercial sex operation inside the business, which is officially listed as Facial Waxing Salon.
The closed massage parlor is located at 2505 Middle Country Road. It had been operating since January, cops said.
Community complaints prompt raid
Community complaints led to an undercover investigation by the department’s Human Trafficking Investigations Unit. The location was closed immediately after being deemed unsafe for occupancy.
The investigation is ongoing. Police are urging anyone with information to contact the Human Trafficking Investigations Unit at 631.854.7512.
