A Central Islip woman has struck it rich on a New York Lottery scratch-off game.
Mary Van Buren claimed a $1 million top prize on the New York Lottery’s Bonus 20X scratch-off ticket. She chose to receive her winnings as a single lump sum payment totaling $436,171 after required withholdings.
Van Buren bought the winning ticket at Stop & Shop, located at 2650 Sunrise Highway in East Islip.
As of this week, one $1 million top prize remains on the Bonus 20X ticket. Players can check the status of any New York Lottery scratch-off game by downloading the Game Report at nylottery.ny.gov.
Take Five win in Merrick
Earlier this month, New York Lottery today announced one top-prize winning ticket — worth $18,705 — was sold in Merrick for the Oct. 1 TAKE 5 afternoon drawing. The ticket was purchased at Cards Unlimited, 2170 Merrick Ave. in Merrick.
