The original Cheezly’s crew started slinging mac and cheese dishes, grilled cheese sandwiches and nachos out of a food truck parked behind a vacant KFC in Port Jeff Station in April 2019.
By October 2020, the truck was closed and Cheezly’s was operating out of a huge and prominent flagship restaurant and drive-thru at 606 Broadhollow Road in Melville.
Now one of the company’s co-founders, James Christiano, has landed Cheezly’s in another prime location: the South Shore Mall food court in Bay Shore.
Cheezly”s starts serving customers Saturday, Sept. 2, in the space last occupied by Checkers.
Not only that, Christiano told GreaterBayShore this location will feature an outside-facing pickup window — and will remain open beyond mall hours for pickup and delivery. (See the rendering below.)
“The Bay Shore community is very strong and we definitely look forward to serving everyone,” Christiano said. “The ability to be open past mall hours is also what drew me to this location. It’s Cheezly’s first location in a mall, and might not be our last!”
Cheezly’s now specializes in gourmet patty melts, chicken melts, cheesesteaks, mac and cheese, grilled cheeses and more. Basically anything involving cheese. Click here to view their extensive menu.
