Chip City opens soon on Deer Park Avenue in North Babylon

|

It’s confirmed. Chip City North Babylon opens at 1240 Deer Park Ave. on Friday, Nov. 10.

And the cult favorite cookie haven is in expansion mode. Chip City will now count five locations on Long Island after also opening spots in Merrick and East Northport this summer. North Babylon will be the last to open among the three L.I. locations that were slated for 2023.

They also have stores in Oceanside in Garden City, both of which opened in 2022.

North Babylon will be open every day from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

“We are very excited to expand into Long Island,”Theodore Gailas, who co-founded the company, previously told Greater Long Island. “We chose these locations because they are consistent with the communities that our existing locations serve.”

Gailas and his partner, Peter Phillips, grew the chain from one small shop in Astoria to what today is nearly two dozen, mostly located in the boroughs, along with three in New Jersey.

“It kind of just grew into this project where we were creating these fun nostalgic flavors,” Gailas told us. “And as we were opening on the weekends just for a few hours a day, we had these lines down the block. People were waiting up to an hour to get in and get some cookies. Slowly but surely it evolved.”

If you go

Some of Chip City’s most popular cookie options are chocolate chip, s’mores and cookies n’ cream, along with a variety of their signature filled cookies. So those are a good place to start. Popular filled cookies include peanut butter & jelly, oatmeal apple pie, Nutella sea salt, and blueberry cheesecake. Follow greaterlongisland.com for updates, or Chip City on Instagram.
