The popular Cloud Nine Ice Cream & Cereal Bar in Patchogue is expanding to Smithtown, just in time for summer.
Matthew Pesko and his fiancé and business partner, Lexi Balunas, are introducing their second Cloud Nine location to Smithtown’s Main Street early next month.
The storefront the couple found for rent is a former açai bowl and smoothie place — a perfect match with all the necessary equipment already in place. It’s located at 83 East Main St.
“We just stumbled upon it and I was like oh my god this is what we wanted,” Pesko said. “Smithtown is a huge customer base that comes to Patchogue, so we thought why not just give them what they want.”
Cloud Nine in Patchogue offers cereal-infused ice cream that could be whipped up in just two minutes using special machines, as well as regular ice cream, milkshakes, cereal bowls, and other cereal-based treats.
He and his girlfriend came up with the name, and tagline “the sky’s the limit,” when it comes to their creations.
Pesko said he wants to keep everything consistent, so the new Smithtown location will be no different than his OG spot.
This includes their Insta-worthy décor and signature neon light signage throughout the ice cream shop.
Pesko praises Lexi for being the mastermind behind all the flavor concoctions and forming their strong social media presence.
“I have to give her so much credit for everything that she has done, it’s unbelievable,” he said.
