Shirley is getting a Cold Stone Creamery in South Port Shopping Center.

Cold Stone Creamery is coming to Shirley, offering its popular made-to-order ice cream inside the South Port Shopping Center.

Coming soon signs are now up at the site, which was previously occupied by a Claire’s store. Additionally, the chain’s official store locator lists Shirley as a “coming soon” location.

The new ice cream shop will sit between GNC and Bath & Body Works in the shopping plaza, which is anchored by Stop & Shop, Marshalls and Kohl’s. With Cold Stone filling the South Port’s No. 19 space, the busy plaza is now fully leased.

No official opening date has been announced for the Shirley location.

Cold Stone Creamery was founded in 1988 in Tempe, Arizona, and has grown into one of the nation’s best-known ice cream brands with hundreds of locations across the United States and around the world.

Under a concept the brand calls the “Ultimate Ice Cream Experience,” Cold Stone offers premium ice cream made fresh in-store and customized on a frozen granite slab with an abundance of mix-ins available, including candies, nuts, cookies, brownies and syrups.
