Police have made an arrest in the fatal East Patchogue apartment complex stabbing on Sunday.
Suffolk cops arrested Antwane Lee, 31, of Bay Shore Monday about 8 p.m. at county police headquarters in Yaphank, police said. He is charged with second-degree murder for allegedly killing Justin Evans of Bay Shore during a fight inside Heatherwood Lakeside Village Luxury Apartments, located off of Hospital Road.
Lee is scheduled to appear in First District Court in Central Islip on Tuesday to be arraigned on the murder charge. He was held overnight at Suffolk’s Third Precinct.
On Sunday, police responded to the apartment complex after receiving a 911 call regarding a fight. By the time police arrived, Evans, who was stabbed in the neck, had been taken by a private vehicle to NYU Langone Hospital – Suffolk about a quarter of a mile away.
The victim was pronounced dead a short time later.
On its website, Heatherwood Communities notes that its East Patchogue apartment complex offers one- and two-bedroom apartments and resort-style amenities.
