Suffolk County police are seeking the public’s help in finding a Mastic Beach teen they believe ran away before being taken into foster care in November.
Police say 16-year-old Hannah Simpson was reported missing on Nov. 8 by her mother and is considered a runaway who fled prior to being taken into foster care by Suffolk County Child Protective Services, according to a release.
Police said that Simpson has been in touch with family, but has not been located.
Simpson had previously been staying with a family member on Hemlock Drive in Mastic Beach and was attending William Floyd High School.
Simpson is white, 5 feet, 2 inches tall, about 125 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. She has a birthmark on her right shoulder.
Anyone with information on Simpson’s location is asked to call 911 or the Seventh Squad at (631) 852-8752.
