Michael's Christmas tree theft

Suffolk police are asking for the public’s help to identify and locate two people they say stole a Christmas tree from a Shirley store last month.

According to police, two women attempted to steal two artificial Christmas trees on Dec. 11 at about 10:20 a.m. from Michael’s, located at 1019 Montauk Hwy. in the South Port Shopping Center. An employee was able to reclaim one of the trees before the women fled the parking lot in a tan 2001 Malibu with New York license plate JAB 2763.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest.
