Suffolk County is continuing its battle against the opioid crisis by offering scheduled overdose prevention classes in the Babylon area.
The county, which is working locally with the West Babylon School District, will provide a full presentation at the senior high school on opiods that are circulating in the Town of Babylon.
All attendees will receive proper training on how administer NARCAN — a nasal spray that can reverse the effects of an overdose — and tips on what to do while someone is overdosing before emergency services arrive.
Upon completion of the class, participants will receive a certificate of completion, and attendees over 16 years old will receive a resuscitation kit that includes NARCAN .
