COVID-19 hero: Occupational therapist makes home visits across Suffolk County

|

When GreaterSayville.com asked its followers on Instagram who they were staying at home for during the coronavirus pandemic, Lauren Svoboda was among the fastest to reply.

“I am staying home for my fiancé Rich!!!!,” she exclaimed. “Richie works for Catholic Home Care as an occupational therapist. He hasn’t missed a single day of work, even though he is going in and out of people’s homes all over Suffolk County.”

Svoboda of Manorville said her future husband (the couple is moving to a new home in Wading River this month) has taken on extra cases from co-workers who needed to self-quarantine at home.

“I am so unbelievably proud of you,” she said, speaking to Rich in her message to GreaterSayville.com on Instagram. “Babe, I know this is scary, but the therapy you bring your patients is essential to help them recover and survive. “
