Deer Park lottery player wins $1 million scratch-off prize

It’s not exactly the grin you’d expect holding a million-dollar check.

Nonetheless, Gus Anastasiadis of Deer Park claimed a $1 million top prize Wednesday on the New York Lottery’s Millionaire Maker scratch-off game, New York Lottery announced. He opted for a one-time lump sum payment of $651,006 after required withholdings.

Anastasiadis purchased his lucky ticket at Trakia, a Sunoco gas station located at 765 Deer Park Ave. in Dix Hills.

As of now, five $1 million prizes remain on the Millionaire Maker game. Players can check the status of any New York Lottery scratch-off by downloading the Game Report at nylottery.ny.gov.
