Ocean Beach is getting a taste of Kismet this summer.
The team behind Dive — the retro SoCal-style restaurant that’s become a Kismet favorite — is bringing the good vibes and elevated bar food across Fire Island.
Dive Ocean Beach is opening May 3 at 927 Evergreen Walk in Ocean Beach, taking over the iconic building that once housed Castaways and Bocce Beach.
“Same concept that you love from Kismet with a few changes to make it unique to Ocean Beach,” a spokesperson for Dive told Greater Long Island on the new location.
Think: 70s vibes, surfboard décor, sushi, live music — and that laid-back energy that fits perfectly with a summer day on Fire Island.
HOW IT HAPPENED

The original Dive opened in Kismet in 2021, after restauranteur Frankie Bragaglia took over the former Surf’s Out location and reimagined it with 70s retro SoCal vibes and elevated beach eats.
“I’ve been coming out here for the last couple of years and it’s a cool little location. It’s very down to earth,” Bragaglia previously told Greater Long Island. ” Kismet is awesome.”
So when he heard the Castaways/Bocce Beach space was available in Ocean Beach, he jumped to expand the concept.
Dive OB will run under Standard Provisions Restaurant Group, which also operates The Brixton in Babylon, Standard Rec in Patchogue, and Moonrise Motel in Kismet.
IF YOU GO

When you step into the new Dive, expect a relaxed, family-friendly hangout spot with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, colorful retro décor, and good tunes playing all day.
You’ll find elevated bar food with a coastal twist — like sushi rolls, poke bowls, and fresh raw bar selections.
Live bands will be playing on the weekends to keep the beach party rolling.
Dive OB will be open seasonally starting in May, running full-time through Labor Day and weekends into the fall.
