A reckless driver who fled from highway police at more than 110 miles per hour on the Long Island Expressway last week remains on the run, but their vehicle was found late Thursday in Brentwood and impounded.
The 2010 Infiniti G37 had been speeding and weaving through traffic in Hauppauge near Exit 55 on the westbound side of the expressway about 10 p.m. on June 26 when members of the Street Takeover Task Force attempted a traffic stop, police said.
The driver refused to pull over and took Exit 53 southbound.
Officers tracked down the vehicle about 11:50 p.m. Thursday on Blue Jay Drive in Brentwood. The car was seized as evidence, police said.
