Nassau County will soon be home to a second Duck Donuts location.
The popular made-to-order doughnut company is opening in East Meadow at 2334 Hempstead Turnpike. Ownership is looking to launch this fall, hopefully by November, according to a Facebook response published last week.
For the uninitiated, the doughnut eatery operates like a Chipotle where there’s an assembly line ordering system allowing patrons to choose custom toppings and fillings for their orders.
An employee pours the batter, a machine forms the circles which dive into oil, they emerge a golden brown and toppers douse them with icing, sprinkles and delicious drizzles.
Founded in Duck, N.C., in 2007, there are now over 115 locally owned and operated shops across 24 states, as per the company’s LinkedIn page. On the island, there are three locations: Hauppauge, Selden and Garden City Park.
The location in Garden City Park, the first in Nassau County, opened in 2022. Read more about it here.
