East Islip girls soccer collects bevy of individual awards after winning Suffolk title

Seven players and the coach from East Islip’s county championship team this fall received individual honors from the Suffolk County Girls Soccer Coach Association.

Kate Alexander was named Division II Class A,B,C Player of the Year, while Nikki Brunner received the Division II Class A,B,C Defensive Player of the Year award. Alexander and Brunner also earned All-State and All-County honors.

Jenna Borelli was named Suffolk County Championship Game Most Valuable Player and Coach Ben Diallo was named Suffolk County Division II Coach of the Year. Borelli, Krista Deutsch, Mikayla Horton, Dylann Trahey and Julianna Violi earned All-Division status.

East Islip defeated top-seeded Rocky Point in Suffolk’s Class A championship, before losing the Long Island title game to South Side. East Islip finished 15-2-3 overall, outscoring their opponents 61-20.
