Motorcyclist dies in East Islip crash on Main Street

A 31-year-old man died early Sunday in a motorcycle crash on Main Street in East Islip, police said.

The victim was riding a 2016 Kawasaki motorcycle east on Main Street near Harrison Avenue about 1:20 a.m. when the bike left the roadway and hit a tree and a utility pole, police said.

He was taken to South Shore University Hospital in Bay Shore, where he was pronounced dead.

The victim’s name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin, police said.

Suffolk Police Third Squad detectives are investigating the crash and are asking anyone with information to call 631.854.8352.
