East Meadow man picks up $1 million New York lottery scratch-off win

An East Meadow man is celebrating a major win after claiming a $1 million top prize on the New York Lottery’s “Millionaire Maker” scratch-off game.

Jose Molina purchased his lucky ticket at DGNJ 144 Gas Station on Hempstead Turnpike in West Hempstead, lottery officials said.

The lucky winner received a single lump sum payment of $651,000 after required withholdings.

Four winners left

The New York Lottery reported that, as of this week, four $1 million prizes remain in the “Millionaire Maker” game. Players can check the status of any scratch-off by downloading the Game Report at nylottery.ny.gov.

Scratch-off games remain a popular part of the state lottery, generating more than $4.3 billion in total sales during fiscal year 2024–2025, lottery officials said.
