That was fast.
Just eight days after Express Inc., announced it had filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, the retailer informed Bay Shore shoppers Monday that their location would fall.
Express expects to close about 95 Express stores, according to Reuters and dozens of other national news outlets. Bay Shore patrons received an email blast today, Monday, entitled:
“Store Closing. Sale happening now at South Shore Express!”
The company further stated all clothing would be marked down between 30 and 50 percent, and to “hurry in while selection is best.”
The company also operates UpWest, which sells clothing and home goods.
Newsday is reporting the Express stores at Sands Shopping Center in Oceanside and Green Acres Mall in Valley Stream are also slated for closure, along with the UpWest at Roosevelt Field.
