Family-friendly Buttermilk’s Kitchen set for spring opening in Patchogue

|

Patchogue’s burgeoning downtown scene has fast become the place to be for young people to live and have fun, but the soon-to-come Buttermilk’s Kitchen is seeking to draw an even younger crowd: kids and families.

Set to open spring 2017, this family-friendly restaurant will serve breakfast and lunch seven days a week in a “sleek, urban, yet inviting setting,” according to a company press release.

It will be located in the west side of the former Cornell Galleries building at the corner of Railroad Avenue. (Cornell moved to Bellport earlier this year.)

Its immediate neighbor in the building will be Local Burger Co., which has a location in downtown Bay Shore and is also looking to open in Patchogue sometime this coming spring.

Buttermilk’s is a collaboration between several owners who boast over 25 years of collective experience in restaurant and kitchen management, product/recipe development, food styling, and financial development and management, according to the release.

A preview of the preliminary menu shows an emphasis on comfort food and brunch-style favorites — with gourmet touches. The owners envision allowing a “tremendous amount of personalization” to easily adapted items, the release reads.

Crepes, pancakes and waffles will be key categories on what they hint will be a sizable menu. Paninis, salads and burgers will also appear on the yet-to-be-finalized options.

In addition, there will be rotating specials for the more adventurous of diners.

Upscale beverage offerings such as orange juice squeezed fresh, in-house, and a gourmet coffee bar will complement the food offerings.
