Grab your cowgirl hats because the much-anticipated opening of Tejanos Tex-Mex Cantina has (almost) arrived.
The full-service Tex-Mex spot at 117 Deer Park Ave., in the heart of Babylon Village, officially opens its doors at noon Wednesday.
And Greater Long Island got a first look. (Scroll down for more photos by photographer Eric Micallef.)
The father-and-son team behind the operation — both named Leo DeNicola — previously described the feel and decor as leaning heavily into the Texas side of the Tex-Mex equation.
But the menu will feature all the staples like tacos, fajitas, quesadillas and burritos, along with a cocktail program built around margaritas.
“Opening Tejanos in Babylon Village this Wednesday means everything to us,” the younger DeNicola, 31, told GLI. “We are beyond excited to bring something fresh to the community. It’s about pairing great food and ambiance with warm hospitality to create a place where people feel welcome and excited to come back.”
Tejanos will be open for lunch and dinner on Tuesdays through Sundays starting at noon. It opens at 3 p.m. on Mondays.
