Former Electric Light Orchestra members heading to Patchogue

|

Patchogue will be feeling the electric light this September.

Fans of Mr. Blue Sky, Don’t Bring Me Down, Evil Woman and other symphonic rock anthems will get a full dose of nostalgia when The Orchestra, starring former members of Electric Light Orchestra and ELO Part II, hits the stage at Patchogue Theatre on Wednesday, Sept. 10 at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets go on sale Friday, May 9, at 10 a.m., and range from $50 to $80 including fees.

They can be purchased at the box office at 71 E. Main St. in Patchogue, by phone at 631-207-1313, or online here.

The band includes ELO and ELO Part II alums like violinist Mik Kaminski, vocalist/keyboardist Eric Troyer, and bassist Glen Burtnik, who also played with Styx. Together, they recreate the lush, orchestral sound that made ELO one of the most iconic rock bands to emerge from England in the 1970s.

ELO’s original run racked up more than 50 million albums sold, and the group’s sound—a fusion of pop, rock, and classical arrangements—continues to fill theaters worldwide.

After ELO disbanded in the 1980s, several members formed ELO Part II, and eventually The Orchestra was born. The band now features a lineup of multi-instrumentalists and vocalists that brings both the original magic and new energy to the stage.

Patchogue Theatre’s box office is open Wednesday through Sunday from noon to 6 p.m., and later on show nights.
