Four nabbed for illegal prescription sales in Westbury, New Cassel

Four individuals face charges after Nassau cops found prescription medications from South America being sold at stores in Westbury and New Cassell, police said.

Strategic Response Team officers made the arrests while conducting quality-of-life operations Monday at Uptown Restaurant in New Cassel and Cremosa Market in nearby Westbury.

Officers found various prescription medications believed to have originated from South America displayed for sale at both locations, police said. Both establishments were locked and secured following the investigation.

Ana Salvador Soto, 32, and Ana Pineda Quijada, 50, both of Westbury; along with Francisco Espinal, 48, of New Cassel; and Kendra Lopez Collado, 42, Hicksville, were each charged with third-degree criminal diversion of prescription medication.

Eaco of the defendants were issued appearance tickets and are scheduled back in court on March 5.
