Frontier Airlines adds two Florida destinations out of Islip’s MacArthur Airport — with intro fares of $49


Back and forth to Florida for a hundred bucks.

That’s the new deal available to flyers traveling from Long Island MacArthur Airport to sunny Fort Myers and Palm Beach. Frontier Airlines announced the two new routes this week, along with one-way fares as low as $49.

To lock in the bargain-rate fares, tickets must be must be purchased before midnight June 1. Frontier said the fares are valid through Sept. 3, with the following blackout dates: June 26-28 and July 1-7. The fares, available at, are one way and do not require a roundtrip purchase.

“We’re excited to expand Frontier’s service at Long Island MacArthur Airport with new summer nonstop flights to two world-class beach destinations, and six nonstop destinations in total from ISP this July,” said Daniel Shurz, Senior Vice President of Commercial for Frontier Airlines.

“We anticipate these new routes to two of the most popular beach destinations in Florida will be in high demand as family and friends seek affordable domestic summer travel options,” he added.

To address concerns over the ongoing coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, Frontier will implement mandatory temperature screenings for passengers and workers, beginning June 1.

“Frontier has been at the forefront in implementing numerous measures to support passenger well-being in-flight and we are seeing a strong uptick in summer travel demand,” Shurz said.

Anyone with a temperature of 100.4 degrees or higher will be denied boarding.

Previously, Frontier announced sweeping health and safety enhancements, including requiring face coverings that must be worn by all passengers and workers on every flight. Before completing check-in via the company’s website or mobile app, passengers must assert that:

  • Neither they nor anyone in their household has exhibited COVID-19 related symptoms in the last 14 days.
  • They will check their temperature before heading to the airport and not travel if they have a fever.
  • They will wash their hands/sanitize before boarding the flight.
  • They understand and acknowledge the airline’s face covering policy and pre-boarding temperature screening policies.
