Funeral services scheduled for former Bellport Fire Chief Doug Harrow, 63

Relatives, friends and fellow firefighters will gather this week to mourn the passing and celebrate the life of former Bellport Fire Chief Doug Harrow.

A 46-year member of the fire department, Harrow died on Monday, May 15. He was 63.

He joined the department in 1977, serving as 2nd Lieutenant, 1st Lieutenant and Captain of the Eagle Hose Company before ascending through the chiefs ranks and becoming chief of the department in 2003 and 2004..

“Doug will be missed greatly by The Bellport Fire Department and his service to the Bellport Community will never be forgotten,” reads a Facebook post from the Bellport Fire Department.

Funeral services for Harrow will be held at Robertaccio Funeral Home, located at 85 Medford Ave. in Patchogue, on Wednesday, May 24, from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. A Firematic Service will be held at 8 p.m. on Wednesday to pay tribute to his commitment and dedication.

The Funeral Mass is scheduled at Mary Immaculate Church, 16 Browns Lane in Bellport, on Thursday, May 25, at 10 a.m.
