It was raining cats and dogs Saturday in Bay Shore, but that didn’t stop the Islip Animal Shelter’s Annual Dog Wash from raising over $5,000 for the shelter.
The money is used for food and toys, medical care and more for the shelter animals — anything to make their stay at the Town shelter better until they are able to be adopted.
The annual fundraiser is sponsored by Live. Love. Bark Dog Rescue. The nonprofit volunteer group also helps trains the homeless dogs to prepare them for life after the shelter.
