Port Jefferson’s Fedora Lounge Boutique Hair Salon is helping to raise awareness for breast cancer awareness.
For October, which is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the salon will be placing pink strips in people’s hair. It’s $15 per strand.
All the funds raised will go to Wigs & Wishes, a nonprofit that provides wigs at no cost to women and children battling cancer.
Fedora owner Kristine Murillo is very familiar with the organization as someone who donates to the cause often. Her shop also specializes in non-surgical hair replacement.
“I just want to help people that come into my shop,” said Murillo.
